He joins Strato Hotel Consultants after over 20 years experience in a variety of travel, transportation, hospitality, and housing roles with companies preeminent in their industries.
While Dave’s work has garnered over 50 awards for excellence, he realizes that the highest accolade is getting the job done cost-effectively. His work brand-managing Park Hyatt culminated in the collection being named as the best luxury hotel group by Conde Nast Traveler readers. His efforts to re-launch the RockResorts brand were found to be the most impactful advertising campaign of the year among luxury hotel brands by The Luxury Institute. Despite the worst housing market in 75 years, Dave’s spearheading an integrated advertising and public relations plan for John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, the Southeast’s leading premium homebuilder, parlayed a $75,000 agency investment into nearly $2 million in media value—with national coverage on CNN, FOX Business Network, a number of local TV stations, and dozens of newspapers.
Dave’s experience set includes considerable success at branding, advertising, public relations, direct marketing, e-commerce, and short-term promotions designed to stimulate incremental revenue. His six years working with United Airlines Mileage Plus developed keen skills to identify and target prospects that would be most responsive to marketing appeals—thus maximizing resources and efforts. This frequent flyer experience, together with his managing United’s relationship with hotel frequency programs and Star Alliance, has provided Dave with unparalleled exposure to these loyalty and database organizations.
An honors graduate of Cornell University with an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School where he was named Agnor Scholar in Finance, Dave is distinguished among hotel marketers with food & beverage experience in his early career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Westin Hotels & Resorts.
